About Our Classes

Build Better Bones (Osteoporosis)

This class is specifically designed to help reduce the effects of osteoporosis and osteopenia.
Using resistance training we can help strengthen bones and increase bone mineral density to reduce the effects of osteoporosis.
You will need an initial assessment with an Exercise Physiologist and have a personalized program before joining this group class.

Pilates

Pilates is a low impact exercise that focuses on performing small and controlled movements that use your core and back muscles for stabilization. If your body awareness has decreased, pilates can be a great way to improve your strength, stabilization, mobility and flexibility. Pilates can be an effective way to manage and relieve back pain.

Our pilates class is a mix of mat, reformer, wall springs and circuit style pilates and is run by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist , therefore our classes are private health claimable!!

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates differs from Pilates because it takes into account an individual’s specific injuries and physical needs, instead of having every person work in the same way. We prescribe Pilates that is suitable for your body, your injuries and dysfunctions. Our Clinical pilates group classes run in 5 week blocks with a maximum of 4 participants per class so you can ensure you are getting the most from your sessions.

1x Initial assessment and 2 x 1 on 1 sessions with an exercise physiologist required before joining a group class. These appointments and classes are also private health claimable!!

Healthier You

A class designed for 50+, this class entails all the necessary fitness components to live a happy and healthy life. In this class, you will:

  • Improve your heart health and cardiovascular endurance
  • Improve your strength and wellbeing
  • Improve your balance and coordination
  • Learn useful fitness skills you can use at home
  • Increase confidence and skill in a gym-type environment
  • Increase bone health through weight training

A great supportive class for anyone who feels they need to improve their fitness but aren’t sure where to start

Functional Fitness

Our functional fitness class is designed to help you reduce your risk of falls and maintain mobility and strength. This class has a mixture of chair exercises and balance exercises and is wheelie walker friendly!!

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is an exercise therapy that is performed in a heated pool. Hydrotherapy has numerous benefits and is beneficial for a variety of conditions. The use of mild regulated movements in warm water allows individuals to gradually increase their range of motion. Additionally, the environment is safe, pleasant and frequently enjoyable.

  • Decreased load and pain on joints
  • Decreased heart rate and blood pressure

Run and Core

This session caters for all abilities and all ages from the beginner through to the advanced runner. There is always a core/basic strength component to the session as well as functional technique drills and dynamic stretching. Every week the main set varies in distance and intensity. This session has been running for over 15 years and has helped people achieve fitness, health and run specific goals.

Location: Location grassy area next to the All abilities Park and Skate Park.

Swim - Technique and Fitness

This session caters for all abilities and all ages from the beginner through to the advanced swimmer. Focus will be on predominantly Freestyle swim technique and fitness. Every week the main set varies in distance and intensity.

Location: This will be held in the 25m over winter and 50m pool over summer at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Center.

Healthy Heart Foundation Walk

Every Wednesday morning at 8.30am we meet at Seafront Oval. 

This group caters for all abilities and all ages where you can walk at your own pace.  It’s fun, it’s free and a great way to make new friends while boosting your health and well-being. Your walk will be led by a friendly accredited exercise physiologist.

Everybody is welcome, including dogs and prams.
