Emily is originally from NSW (go the blues!), where she completed her Exercise Physiology studies, but she now calls Hervey Bay home. Working as an Exercise Physiologist she quickly developed a passion for working within the chronic disease management field as well as with neurological, cancer and NDIS participants and clients.
She can be found in both our Hervey Bay and Maryborough locations providing consultations, gym, hydrotherapy and home visits to clients of varying abilities and ages. She loves encouraging not only exercise but ‘movement’ that is suitable and tailored to her clients needs and goals; there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach here, a smile is guaranteed though. On weekends she enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring the great outdoors and attempting to play Netball.
I’m a clinical dietitian with a Bachelor of Health Science ( Nutrition and Dietetics). I’ve worked in clinical and community dietetics, and also public health nutrition in the prevention of chronic disease in whole populations. I am particularly interested in family nutrition and am passionate about helping children and families to develop positive connections with food both at home and where possible, at school or care.
I’m also particularly interested in gut health and the growing evidence that shows a protective link between healthy gut bacteria and many diseases including diabetes; cardiovascular disease; cancer; and mental health. I work with individuals and families to develop practical, no-nonsense eating patterns that will improve symptoms and overall health, while maintaining a positive relationship with food for life.
